What Can You Learn in a 7-Week Course?: Outcomes and Perceptions of Time-Intensive Online Courses

While time-intensive (7-week) courses are becoming more common in online learning, there is not a strong evidence base regarding their outcomes and student perceptions.  In this session, we will share findings from our large-scale study that utilizes both survey data and hierarchical mixed-effects logistic regression from learning analytics.

Benjamin Croft is the Data Scientist on the Research and Innovation Team at the Boise State University eCampus Center. His research interests span critical data studies, equity and inclusion and online learning in higher education.

Rob Nyland, Ph.D. is the eCampus Assistant Director of Research & Innovation at Boise State eCampus Center, where he leads a team that performs research in online learning, learning analytics, and OER. He has previously worked as a full-time faculty member of Multimedia Design and Production at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. His research interests include learning analytics, instructional design, and online learning.
