Designing for Social Learning – Taking the “Groan” Out of Group Work

In this session, we will discuss evidence-based practices that effectively take the “groan” out of group work. We will reflect on our social learning experiences, as well as share ways to create social learning in course design and instruction through the use of collaborative technology. 

Nicole Messier’s work experience has showcased her ability to be an engaging educator,  an innovative designer and a successful trainer in education, currently as an instructional designer at Rasmussen College and previously as a principal and curriculum trainer. She has a Certification for the Fundamentals of Online Teaching  from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and Public Policy from Ashford University and a Master of Arts Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Xavier University.
